On our last trip we decided to stay at Pop Century because we were looking for a good value option so that we could spend money on other event’s, like Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. To categorize this Disney Property, it is of similar price to the All Star property options. We figured, since we already tried staying at All Star Sport’s last time that we would try something different.
Pop century is in a great location right next to Art of Animation, which gives you some flexibility when it comes to dining, gift shops and transportation. We easily walked back and forth when we wanted to switch up some quick service meals. The one downside is that Art of Animation’s pool is soooo tempting! But you need to be staying at the Art of Animation to be able to go into the pool area.
Pop Century is what we consider a resort to stay at when your aren’t really in the room or looking to relax by the pool. It’s pretty much a place to sleep because you love to spend the majority of your time at the parks!
The rooms are your average hotel size and are accessible from outside. There isn’t a hallway you have to walk through to get to your room, which is a little different than the larger resorts. Each section is also spaced out so try to request a room close to the main building so when you are running for a bus in the morning to make rope drop or trying to fill up your Disney cup before the quick service closes at night, you want to be able to get there pretty quickly.
The atmosphere of Pop Century is pretty cool, it feels like your walking through time as you walk past different sections because each section is themed after a different decade. You’ll learn lots of fun facts too! As you walk around you’ll see facts relating to each decade and different props around and on the buildings too.
We recommend this for someone looking to stay on disney property that values spending time at the park and are always on the go. Or someone who’s just not looking to spend as much on a room as some of the other resorts.
